Who is responsible for your data?

Data and purposes

We process the name, email address and account information you provide to create and secure your learning account; billing name, address, country, offer, price, tax, payment identifiers and status to perform your purchase contract and maintain required commerce records; access allocations, lesson completion, assessment submissions and scores to deliver learning and issue the configured completion record; and support or withdrawal information to handle your request. Security controls may process IP addresses and technical request information to prevent abuse.

Account and learning processing is necessary to perform the learning contract. Invoice and commerce retention may be required by law. Fraud prevention, service security and managing legitimate complaints rely on our legitimate interests, assessed against your rights. No advertising consent is required to use the service. Optional marketing would require a separate lawful basis and an easy withdrawal choice.

Payments and recipients

Payments are handled by Revolut. The service shares the information needed for the payment, such as your email, billing name, amount and order reference. Full payment card numbers and card security codes are entered with the payment provider and are not stored by this website. Revolut applies its own privacy information to payment processing.

Authorised EAC personnel and contracted hosting, security, support and accounting providers may receive information needed for their work, subject to appropriate duties and safeguards. If an organisation allocates your learner seat, its authorised manager can view your identity, assigned course and completion progress for that allocation. It cannot browse unrelated learners, personal orders or your question-by-question assessment answers through the manager portal.

Some service providers or payment processing may involve countries outside the EEA. Applicable adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards must govern any restricted transfer. Contact EAC Malta for the applicable recipient, location and safeguards for your processing; we do not claim that every recipient processes data exclusively in Malta.

Retention

We retain account and learning records while required to deliver access, maintain issued learning records and resolve contractual queries. Commerce records are retained for the applicable legal accounting and tax period; the administration currently provides a ten-year retention setting, which EAC must maintain against its actual obligations. A setting does not trigger indiscriminate automatic deletion. Security and operational logs follow the relevant provider’s documented retention. Data no longer needed must be reviewed for deletion or anonymisation. Legal claims and mandatory retention may restrict immediate deletion.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on it, without affecting prior lawful processing. Contact the email above; we may request information proportionate to verifying your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month, subject to the lawful extensions and exceptions.

You may complain to the Malta Information and Data Protection Commissioner or another competent supervisory authority. Providing billing and account data needed for a purchase is a contractual requirement; without it we cannot fulfil the order. Quiz marking is automated to provide a learning result. It does not itself grant an aviation licence or regulatory entitlement; contact us to contest an assessment outcome.

Security and cookies

The learning service uses HTTPS, individual login sessions, server-side access checks and protected course-resource delivery. Keep your credentials confidential and contact us about suspicious access. No security measure guarantees absolute protection. See the cookie information for necessary sessions and security controls.
